Kelly Brewer

Coach

kebrewer228@gmail.com

Kelly began swimming year-round at age seven in Oklahoma, quickly following in her older sister’s footsteps. By age ten, she became the Oklahoma State Champion in the 10&U individual medley and breaststroke, going on to compete at the next level, Zones. At eleven, she moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where she trained at Bolles through high school while attending Nease and Bartram Trail. One of her favorite memories from that time was being invited to compete in Australia her freshman year, following a top finish at the state meet.

Her first job as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and coach at the Williams YMCA sparked a lifelong passion for coaching. Since then, she has remained deeply involved in the sport from—teaching swim lessons, coaching summer teams such as the SJGCC Stingrays and JCP Porpoises and working with year-round swimmers on the North Florida Swimming team as well as UNF Masters. Kelly is passionate about helping swimmers of all ages understand the mechanics and technique of each stroke. She finds great joy in watching their confidence grow when everything “clicks.”

In addition to coaching, Kelly is also a certified group exercise instructor at the YMCA. She earned her bachelor’s degree in health science from the University of Florida. Outside the pool, she enjoys hiking, camping and Cardinals baseball with her husband and their son—who has recently joined the swim team, continuing the family’s love for the sport.
